Our Story
Seven Cars and a Hunch.
After serving as a decorated Navy pilot in World War II, Jack Taylor returned home to St. Louis with a dedication to his country, his family and the dream of starting a business. In 1957 he embraced the novel concept of leasing automobiles, with a fleet of seven cars.
He named the company after the aircraft carrier he served on, the USS Enterprise. Today Enterprise offers car and truck rental, car sharing and car sales, with thousands of locations around the world.
